Trent Price (Music and Entertainment Coordinator/Founder)

Trent Price is a musician, composer, community organizer, and teacher. He is a part of a number of diverse music projects (including Lumberjack, who will be featured at this year's festival) in Portland, Oregon, where he is based, and is a coordinator for several festivals and community events including Pickathon and Pie-A-Thon. He also travels to different schools and teacher trainings in the Portland area, teaching music, mindfulness, and nature immersion skills. His two greatest passions are music and community, and this clearly comes across in every project he is a part of.

Three years ago, he created Pie-A-Thon. It began as a small gathering and backyard concert at his next door neighbor, Candace Hixon's house (Hixon served as the festival pie baker for the first two years of its existence). Pie-A-Thon was born out of Price's desire to bring people together and create an environment of love and inspiration. In 2016 the festival grew in size and scale, moving from Hixon's backyard to a much larger outdoor space. Live painting was also added to the mix, courtesy of Shelby Silver, and Sprocket Podcast did a live taping of their show. The festival will only continue on this trajectory, with more prominent musical acts joining the bill this year (like Those Willows), and an expansion of the arts and performance program. In 2017, due to the hard work of Art and Design coordinator, Shelby Silver, Pie-A-Thon welcomed four new artists to the family, each of whom will bring their unique gifts to the festivities. In spite of these changes--or perhaps because of them-- Pie-A-Thon's mission to foster community and inspiration has not wavered. In fact, it has only gotten stronger.

Price also serves as coordinator for Pie-A-Thon's artist collective, which is in its beginning phase. He will continue pouring his passion into these endeavors which he believes so strongly in.
