Angeline Izquierdo (Artist)
Angeline Izquierdo grew up in the border town of El Paso, Texas where miles of empty desert and mountains surround a city with a vibrant hispanic culture. Her inspiration comes from the Southwest and from other strong Female artists like Frida Kahlo and Georgia O'Keeffe. Her creative career started at the age of 11 when she joined Destination Imagination, a problem solving program that introduces students to a variety of creative challenges. From building bridges out of spaghetti to creating a Rube Goldberg machine out of throwaway materials, Destination Imagination helped Angeline merge different mediums together. She hopes to continue making mixed media art that reflects her new environment, Portland, Oregon.
